Next Meeting, Monday 24 July - 2017 at Club Elements

Hi Members,

On Monday 24 July, we meet NOT at the library but at Club Elements, 224 Dennis Road, Springwood. There is plenty of parking in Dennis Road, right outside Club Elements.

Canon Australia is coming to exhibit their new range of photographic Equipment and for us to use it. There will be no sales of equipment. Instead, Canon will give us a photographic  challenge to do, either with your own equipment, or with equipment they supply for us to play with.

Come and join the U3A Camera Club and Canon Australia at Canon's LIVE LEAP event, so you can join other LEAPers out in the real world and take your photography further.

What is LEAP? Leap is a new program pioneered by Canon, It is all about taking your creativity further by driving you to capture images that are unlike anything you’ve shot before.
More Info: www.canon.com.au/leap

Do I need a camera? We will have a great range of cameras for you to play with, including the latest Canon EOS 80D, EOS M5 and EOS 5D Mark IV, as well as many others.  We’ll also have a bunch of nice Canon glass to try out on the day.  Of course you are welcome to bring your own as well.  Don’t forget your memory card.

For those not familiar with the Elements Village, it is situated at the very end of Dennis Road at one of the entrances of Daisy Hill Forest. There is plenty of parking in the street right outside Club Elements, the community centre.

Next Meeting - Monday 10 July 2017 - 11.00am

Hi Members,

Are we all ready for a new term? We start on Monday with the Show and Tell segment, topic being Portraits, following our last meeting. So please send us up to 3 photos of your efforts.

The main Topic
"When we think about taking a photo, what are we trying to achieve? Why do we focus on one subject matter rather than another?" Several of the members of the Camera Club who went to Hawaii in May have organised a selection of their photos to show why they have focused on an image and what they were trying to achieve in that photo!
Trevor Aim: Capture the silhouette of an image
Trevor Aim: To show DOF. F8 and getting down low
