Term Break

Hi Members,
We are now on a term break and will meet again on the 13 April when we'll visit Mayes Cottage for a photo shoot. More details and how to get there will be posted on the blog before the meeting.

In Term 3, starting on the 13 July, the camera club will have two sessions, still on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month:

- 11:00 am. Session and
-   1:00 pm. Session

The new 1:00pm session is to accommodate the people on the waiting list and those who recently joined the club. Bill and Diane will go through past lessons aimed at newer members who were not here when these topics were covered. Otherwise the clubs will be identical. We are no longer considering a "Beginners'" class.

Club outings will be combined with both clubs.

From now on, any new members interested in our club, will have to join the 1:00 pm. session. Members can only belong to one session, or it would defeat the purpose of this additional club.

Check the blog for a map and details the week before the meeting.

Next Meeting, Monday 23 March 2015

Hi Members,

How time flies, Monday is already the last meeting of Term 1. We'll start off with your submitted Travel Photos, which you can still send until Saturday Night.

Then to our main topic for the meeting.

They say the best camera you have is the camera you have with you when you see that special shot.

A common sight these days
Most of us these days have a mobile phone with us everywhere we go. They just about all have cameras. Do we make the most of these. Diane will explain what they can do and how to use them when our 'real' cameras are not with us.

Bring along your phones, we'll try to put into practice some of the things Diane will have mentioned.

Yesterday's Meeting

Hi members,

We had the most members attending since the middle of last year. 43 members came to listen to Jason Buck our guest speaker. Jason has been coming to talk to us for a few times. He is a very interesting speaker, able to cover any subject assoiciated with photography. Today was no exception. He told us of his trip the Europe and showed us some magnificent shots of France and the UK.

A packed room listens to guest speaker Jason Buck

Jason captured this panorama shot with his iPhone
This stunning image was converted to monochrome to highlight the typical English post box.

Jason captured this French motorcyclist having a quiet smoke on his travels.

This 'repeated pattern' shot in Paris surprised one of our members, exclaiming, I took this shot as well. Small world.

Another typical French colourful picture in Jason's collection.

It's always a great pleasure to welcome Jason to one of our meetings. The Club is very grateful to have him as one of our regular guest speakers.

Here's Jason's Website:

Since Jason discussed Travel Photography, how about you send in two of your best travel shots. Before Saturday 21 March to

Hi Members,

It's not too late to send us a couple of photos of people, showing emotions or telling a story, following our main topic at the last meeting. As usual, send them to

Jason is Back
We are very privileged to have Jason Buck speaking to us on Monday. Jason has recently started his own business BUCKSHOT PHOTOGRAPHIC SERVICES and will no doubt tell us about it. He is a very good speaker and has talked to the club a couple of times before. He is always interesting and entertaining.
