Today's meeting

Hi Members,

We all enjoyed ourselves at Mayes Cottage this morning. Quite a good turnout again.

The Slab Hut which was the original home of John and Emily Mayes who arrived
from England by sailing ship "Indus" in the 1880s to seek a new life in Australia

The Logan City Council, who administers Mayes Cottage, sent us Mr Jamie Treble, a Local History Librarian to open the cottage just for us. Many thanks to both Jamie and the Logan City Council for their service.

It was good to see so many members again
The building and the grounds are beautifully maintained and I can highly recomment a visit to Mayes Cottage.

A Pleasant Place it is
There were lots of opportunities to take photographs and we'll see some at the thext meeting.
